Monty Munch

For this Edward Munch inspired background, I inked up the Woodgrain BG with reds and oranges before stamping it.  The grassy foreground was stamped in green and paper pieced.

Meet the Ghoulies!

Meet the Ghoulies...
Eight new DoodleFactory characters just in time for Halloween (and beyond!) http://starvingartistamps.com/doodlefactory_ghoulies.html

Meet Hugo...

Recipe:
Background how to:
I used Martha Stewart's large rat punch to create the 3D rats background. I mounted all the rats and stamped images on 1/8" and 1/16" Stampers magic POP! tapes for added dimension: http://starvingartistamps.com/other_cool_stuff.html

Meet Morty, Morgana and Frankie...

Images used:

The background panel and top of the card were both done using our Build a Cloud stamp. The top clouds were stamped in black in on the green card base and then the sky portion was colored over with a blue copic marker

The creepy cloudy border was done by stamping the build a cloud in black ink on white cardstock and then sponging all the clouds using a dauber. Once all the clouds were colored I outlined the clouds with orange copic markers.

Our build a cloud stamp is the one stamp that should be in every stampers collection!

More projects featuring these images coming soon!

Costume Party!

Did you know that every time we have a new DoodleFactory release, I think to myself " this one is my favorite!". I am going to have to learn how to stop saying that, because as soon as Irene draws us up a new collection it starts all over again. I love this set. If you are a Halloween enthusiast you will appreciate how well these will work with last years two collections Graveyard shift and Witches brew. But what I love most about this new set is that you can use some of these images year round, not just for halloween cards. (see below)

Halloween card:

Products used:
Images: Starving Artistamps DoodleFactory Costume party ghost boy, vamp boy, skulls set.
"things that bump in the night" sentiment from trick or treat sentiments set.
Martha Stewart punches (cobweb, drippy goo, and grave yard)

non-halloween card:

products used:
Starving Artistamps "Howdy Partner" sentiment and buildings from Cowboy cats collection, Starving Artistamps DoodleFactory Costume party Costume cowboy.
other products: crate paper collection "cowgirl"
Martha Stewart punch (for rope border)

Do those two cards look similar? They might. They used the same sketch.

We are hosting a sketch challenge all month long on Rubber Stamp Chat. Not only
did we design this sketch, we are also offering up a BIG prize to participants.
For more information on the sketch visit: www.rubberstampchat.com

We also have a blog candy give away on our company blog.
We are giving away 2 sets of costume party to randomly drawn winners.
Visit our company blog for details: www.starvingartistamps.blogspot.com

Take a peek at the new set, there are lots more images than just the 5 I used here.

A handful of cards

Here are a few more halloween cards. I love Halloween and I plan to do as much as I can before Halloween is over and we move on to Christmas!

This first card features both the Classic Halloween silhouette (sentiment and graveyard scene) along with the DoodleFactory graveyard shift set. I realized when I made the sentiments for the DF Halloween II sets we left out an important sentiment. It prompted my late release of the Halloween silhouette stamps. I knew they would look really cool as a background scenic element.

So it seems I STILL have not mastered the swedish collage style, but I really like the coloring on the cat. I need to go back and add a chipboard title I think it really needs it.

I love this card.
In person its alot nicer, stop by the stamp show and visit with us in Indiana and you will see what I mean!
Yeah, this one is not my favorite. Its really missing something, I might need to go back and figure that out but for now it is what it is.

This card didnt come out how I thought it would but what I love about this card is the zombie and the tombstones. I stamped them in brilliance black but they came out a little light. I used a pigment pen to color in the zombie to make it darker, add the RIP and outline the stones. I really like how these came out, here is a closeup:
